About the Position
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Petroleum Engineers to join our technical team in Abu Dhabi. This is an exceptional opportunity for petroleum engineering professionals who want to work on world-class oil and gas projects in one of the most important energy hubs in the world.
As a Petroleum Engineer with our company, you will be involved in reservoir engineering, production optimization, drilling operations, and field development planning. You will work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximize hydrocarbon recovery while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. This role offers exposure to both offshore and onshore operations in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze reservoir data and develop reservoir models using specialized petroleum engineering software
- Design and optimize oil and gas production systems to maximize recovery and efficiency
- Monitor well performance and recommend interventions to improve production rates
- Prepare detailed technical reports, evaluations, and recommendations for management
- Conduct reservoir simulation studies and predict future production profiles
- Design well completion strategies and artificial lift systems
- Evaluate and analyze pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) data and well testing results
- Develop field development plans and production forecasts
- Coordinate with drilling engineers to optimize drilling operations and well design
- Perform economic analysis and cost-benefit evaluations for projects and interventions
- Monitor and analyze production decline curves and implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques
- Ensure all operations comply with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and company standards
- Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and other technical specialists on integrated projects
- Review and approve work programs, AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure), and technical proposals
- Conduct nodal analysis and production optimization studies
- Participate in well planning meetings and provide technical input
- Supervise and mentor junior petroleum engineers and technical staff
- Stay updated with latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices in petroleum engineering
- Liaise with ADNOC and other regulatory authorities for technical approvals and compliance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in petroleum engineering with oil and gas companies
- Experience in UAE or Middle East oil and gas sector is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of reservoir engineering, production engineering, and drilling operations
- Proficiency in petroleum engineering software such as ECLIPSE, PETREL, Prosper, GAP, PIPESIM, or OFM
- Excellent understanding of reservoir simulation and modeling techniques
- Experience with well testing, pressure transient analysis, and production data analysis
- Knowledge of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods and techniques
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and industry safety standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical report writing and presentation abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
- Ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Willingness to work offshore on rotational basis if required
- Valid UAE residence visa or eligibility to work in UAE
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or chartered engineer status
- SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) membership
- Experience with offshore oil and gas operations in UAE
- Knowledge of ADNOC standards and operating procedures
- Certifications in specialized petroleum engineering software
- Experience with unconventional resources or gas reservoirs
- Arabic language skills (spoken and written)
- Previous experience in project management
- Publications in technical journals or industry conferences
