JOB DESCRIPTION:
About the Position
We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and qualified Accountant to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. This is an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals who are looking to advance their career in a dynamic and professionally managed organization.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with UAE accounting standards and regulations. You will work closely with senior accountants and have the opportunity to gain exposure to diverse industries and accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with UAE accounting standards
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions efficiently
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for clients
- Process payroll and ensure timely salary disbursements to employees
- Handle petty cash management and expense reporting
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and prepare VAT returns
- Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for all financial records
- Assist in year-end closing procedures and audit preparations
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis as required
- Support senior accountants with various accounting projects and assignments
- Use accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP for daily operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience in UAE (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of UAE accounting principles and VAT regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software like Tally ERP, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or SAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas
- Understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis
- Knowledge of UAE labor law regarding payroll processing
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
- Valid UAE residence visa or eligibility to work in UAE
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA (pursuing or completed)
- Previous experience working in accounting firms or consultancy
- Familiarity with multiple accounting software platforms
- Experience with ERP systems implementation or migration
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Experience in handling audits and liaising with auditors
- Bilingual capabilities (English and Arabic)
